…and soon the hummingbirds, butterflies and all the flowers will be gone đ
The lazy days of summer are almost behind us once again and I canât help but think about school days ahead â even though my kids are long out of school. Do we ever lose that fall feeling?
Growing up I remember shopping for school clothes and supplies, and getting back into the fall swing of things. Dance school and piano lessons, baking and doing tons of crafts is always a strong fall memory for me â I did all the same things with my kids – I still do most of my crafting & baking in the fall to this day. September also meant deciding what we were going to be for Halloween because if a costume needed to be handmade it needed a head start to get it done on time. Thoughts of the upcoming holidays followed quickly, today the stores are stocked full of holiday decorations in August! Itâs such a rushed world we live in since I grew up, the simpler times were so much better, I’m so grateful my kids got to experience the tail end of simpler times.
In contrast today, itâs buying school clothes and supplies online, having it all delivered right to your door…everything else is social media…*ugh sigh* I’m part of the anti-social media movement for personal use, way too many unknown eyes spying on our personal info…I donât mind blogging once and a while for business though đ I totally get that the popular social media groups are great to keep in touch with people and for those who are lonely, they are also a very useful tool for those of us with small internet businesses. However, social media groups for the most part in my opinion are creating the most self-absorbed society. There is also a genuine issue of safety & privacy to consider. I much prefer to meet with others and do lunch, but if I am going to do social media I do it in the Google chat app called âHangouts.â Yes, itâs also social media, but itâs more âprivate.â Iâm on my tablet in Hangouts 24/7/365  chatting, exchanging pictures, recipes and jokes – staying in touch with my family & friends on a safer one-on-one basis – no unknown spying eyes –  itâs my only go to social app. Yea, I know I sound like a commercial for the app…I just love Hangouts!
Well, it’s time to plant flower bulbs for next year! Â Goodbye to Summer…Here Comes Fall!
